WJI 2030 convened its latest Member Workshop in Paris on 25 June, kindly hosted by Kering, bringing together Members, Partners, and experts for a day of practical exchange on how to translate sustainability ambition into measurable impact.
These workshops provide an important space to collectively navigate key industry challenges – from evolving regulation and de-risking to decarbonization, water stewardship, and inclusiveness – and to identify concrete pathways forward.
Discussions reaffirmed a shared understanding that sustainability is increasingly central to business resilience and long-term value creation. Anticipating regulation is emerging as a driver of leadership, with organisations that proactively strengthen capabilities and data foundations being better positioned to adapt during uncertain and ever-evolving times.
At the same time, water stewardship is rising as a cornerstone of resilience, requiring consistent action across supply chains, regions, and stakeholders to ensure long-term stability. There is a need to move beyond compliance to embed it as a core performance driver, which in turn demands tangible operational shifts.
Finally, integrating inclusiveness into core systems remains essential, with gender equality needing to be embedded across governance, decision-making, and accountability mechanisms to drive lasting impact. The new WEPs Transparency and Accountability Roadmap supports with exactly this and is now available.
A clear call to action emerged: to recognise these material topics as defining resilience through collective action, to turn sustainability into value through operational change, and to make inclusiveness structural by embedding it across governance and accountability frameworks.
